It all started with the unused companion ticket that we get each year with our American Express Delta Reserve card. All we would have to figure out where and when to go?
When we looked at where our Hilton Honors Aspire card points could take us, the choice was obvious. This year, my wife and I would enjoy Thanksgiving in San Francisco!
To make a great deal event better, my end of year point run find, the Bank of America Travel Rewards card would cover the BART and Lyft rides, Bird scooters, and other travel costs.
Checking into the Parc 55 hotel in union square, our Diamond status gave us the option of free breakfast or $10 a day per person credit at the restaurant. We knew we were going to be going out each day for breakfast so we took the credit and spent it that night on drinks and food.
Yep! You’r reading that right. Unexpected bonus.
When we got home, we had about $365 in travel costs that ate up all $265 of our BOA Travel Rewards. And our $200 BOA Cash Rewards went quick as well as we used that to cover some of our meals (which we exceptional!).
These cards and rewards really made our five day / four night adventure a lot more affordable!
