It started when Katie found round trip tickets from Minneapolis to Los Angeles for only 18,000 Delta miles a piece. It was October, and we were looking at a trip in July. I guess it pays to book early! We locked in the dates and BAM! Our family vacation was planned. 6 tickets for 108,000 miles and under $67 for taxes and fees.
With a location and a time frame, we started to lay out the details. Where would we go? What would we do? Luckily, I had plenty of Hilton points to spend. And with their great customer service, making changes to those plans was painless. They even found an old weekend night certificate that I thought I had used, but apparently had not.
Three nights in Santa Monica, and two in Anaheim (roof top pool no less). We didn’t pay a nickel for our accommodations.
