This was the first rewards card that I started to use. You get two points per dollar spent, and 100 points is worth a dollar in rewards towards travel. According to my math, that’s a 2% reward.
I used this card all year long and build up those points (they called them miles, but I call them points). And when we’d go on a trip, I could go into my account and use the Travel Eraser to use points to pay any travel related charge that I had on my statement. That rental car, the plane ticket, hotel, etc. I’d just click and pay. The end result, my balance would reduce as well as my available points.
I like this card for the person that wants to be rewarded with travel, travels casually (not often, not tied to specific brands). If you travel often, with the same airlines, hotels, etc, you are better off using other cards to maximize your rewards.
It has a lower annual fee, and a predictable reward amount.
